About Us
Nearly three of every 1,000 children in the U.S. are born with a detectable hearing loss in one or both ears. Audiology at Children’s Nebraska knows that early detection and intervention for children are important to prevent speech and language development issues. Our team assesses, treats and manages hearing loss with an individualized plan for your child. We also work with other healthcare and educational professionals to provide holistic care that supports your child’s communication and learning outcomes.
Several conditions may cause hearing loss in your child, including:

Infections during pregnancy, such as cytomegalovirus or rubella
Infections right after birth, such as otitis media or meningitis
Genetic conditions such as Down syndrome, CHARGE syndrome, Usher or Treacher Collins syndrome
