Cochlear Implant Program

Cochlear implants give children with severe hearing loss and their families hope for a brighter tomorrow. These devices can help improve your child’s quality of life and ability to interact with the world around them.

About Us

Traditional hearing aids are helpful for many children with mild or moderate hearing loss, but it’s not always enough for children with severe to profound hearing loss. If a traditional hearing aid is not giving your child the help they need, your child may be eligible for a cochlear implant.

Children’s Nebraska’s Cochlear Implant Program offers highly-trained pediatric experts who are experienced in all aspects of cochlear implants for children. Our team consists of audiology, speech-language pathology, vestibular audiology, deaf education, ENT medicine and implant audiology specialists. Together, we will create a comforting environment and be with you every step of the way — from determining if the cochlear implant the right fit for your child to the implantation surgery and adjusting to having the implant.
