Every newborn deserves the very best start, no matter where their story begins. Children's Nebraska started the Hospital Outreach for Preterm Emergencies project to support rural hospitals and providers with life-saving resources and tools for premature infants.
Why The HOPE Project Exists
Welcoming a premature infant into the world is both a moment of wonder and a time of urgent need. Hospitals in rural or resource-limited communities demonstrate incredible resilience and dedication in caring for these vulnerable patients, often while navigating challenges such as limited access to specialized equipment and fewer opportunities for advanced, hands-on training. The HOPE project bridges these gaps by expanding access to critical resources and education.
Preterm birth remains the leading cause of neonatal mortality, and counties without a maternal-fetal medicine physician (MFM) see higher rates of preterm birth. The HOPE project is here to change that narrative. Our mission is to give every premature infant a fighting chance by empowering rural providers with the resources and knowledge they need to deliver lifesaving care.
