Excellence in neurosurgery

We are the only pediatric program in the state utilizing intraoperative magnetic resonance imaging (iMRI) for the resection of brain and spinal tumors, allowing for precise surgical planning and maximizing the chances of safe, complete tumor removal.

Children’s is a leader in epilepsy surgery and is the only pediatric program in Nebraska to use laser interstitial thermal therapy (LITT) for thermal ablation of brain tumors and epilepsy foci, which provides a less invasive alternative to traditional surgery and preserves healthy brain function.

Children's offers 24/7 neurosurgical coverage in the Emergency Department. Neurosurgeons are available to provide care when it's needed most.

Level 4 Epilepsy Center by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers (NAEC)

Children’s Nebraska is at the forefront of pediatric epilepsy services, with services ranging from routine epilepsy care to leading-edge surgical interventions. As a level 4 center, we have achieved the highest level of designation.

Children’s has the only Electroencephalogram (EEG) Lab in the state accredited by ABRET Neurodiagnostic Credentialing and Accreditation, ensuring high-quality output and adherence to rigorous technical standards.
