Prepare for Your Visit

What to Expect

Attending physical therapy can be challenging for your child. Our goal is to develop a plan that minimizes stress and keeps them involved.

During each appointment, the physical therapist will talk with you and your child about:

  • Progress towards your child’s goals and recommended adjustments to sporting activities and home programs

  • Any challenges your child may be facing, such as completing a home exercise program

  • Activities that your child is working on in preparation for the next session

Family plays an important role in recovering from a sports injury. Collaborating with your child's physical therapist will help your child achieve their goals, learn functional skills and show quicker progress. We recommend you help your child:

  • Practice movements, exercises and skills learned during therapy every day

  • Attend all scheduled appointments on time. Consistent attendance is essential for successful progress

You’re a valuable member of your child’s care team, and we’re here to help you. Please feel comfortable asking any team member if you have questions or need assistance.
