About Us
A provider may refer your child for laboratory testing to learn more about their condition and determine the appropriate treatment options. These diagnostic laboratory services may involve taking samples such as blood, urine, tissue and other bodily fluids.
Our board-certified pediatric pathologists and laboratory specialists are trained to work alongside physicians to make and confirm diagnoses. They are also involved in identifying the appropriate laboratory testing options for your child. Specially trained phlebotomy staff collect blood samples, while board-certified medical laboratory scientists and medical laboratory technologists process and analyze samples and interpret test results.

What Sets Us Apart
Pediatric-Focused
The Pathology and Laboratory Services Department at Children’s is accredited by the College of American Pathologists and our specialists are the only pathologists dedicated solely to pediatrics in Nebraska. Our Medical Laboratory Scientist staff (MLS and MLT) are board-certified in clinical laboratory science.
Expert Team
Our team works with each child’s comfort in mind. Our pediatric phlebotomists (blood draw specialists) are skilled at obtaining blood samples from infants and children and our analyzing machines use small amounts of blood to complete tests. This encourages a gentle and stress-free experience for every child.
