About Us
As part of Children's Advocacy team, the Foster Care Clinic addresses the medical and behavioral health needs of children in foster care. Foster children often face gaps in care, such as missing immunizations, medication for chronic conditions and dental or vision services. Many also need emotional and behavioral support, particularly those who have experienced trauma, which can lead to long-term health issues.
At Children’s, we work closely with families, caregivers and specialists to ensure every child gets the care they need. Our team collaborates with Project Harmony and other state agencies to provide comprehensive exams during a single visit. Results are shared with the birth family, foster family, caseworkers and primary care provider. A follow-up appointment with a primary care provider is also scheduled to monitor the child’s health. No child is ever turned away, as we believe every child deserves to thrive.
