We are the only children’s chronic pain management program in Nebraska fully dedicated to pediatrics. Our expert pediatric pain management team are regional leaders in treating children, understanding their unique needs and managing related challenges. Additional Information:

In most cases, your child will need a referral from their primary care provider or specialty physician, such as a neurologist or orthopedic surgeon. Our team will review your child’s case to ensure they are a good candidate for our Chronic Pain Management clinic, and then reach out to schedule an appointment.

Conditions We Treat

Children’s chronic pain specialists offer effective treatment options for all conditions that cause pain in kids. The most common conditions seen in our clinic include Amplified Musculoskeletal Pain Syndrome (AMPS) and Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS).

Treatments and Services

Pain presents itself in various ways. It may be sharp or dull, in one location or throughout the entire body. Pain can range from mild to severe, and it may change over time. Because pain is different for every child, there is no one-size-fits-all approach to treatment. We base each unique treatment plan on the cause, type and severity of each child’s pain and their individual needs. Treatment may include:

Next Steps

After your child's referral has been reviewed, a member of our team will reach out to schedule the first appointment. At this appointment, you and your child will meet with our multidisciplinary Chronic Pain Management team, which includes the following specialists:

  • Anesthesiologist

  • Nurse practitioner

  • Psychologist

  • Physical therapist or Occupational therapist

The physical or occupational therapist will take your child to the gym and guide them through several exercises to evaluate their muscle strength, coordination, range of motion and ability to move and function.

Throughout the appointment, we may meet with you or your child individually. Before you leave, we will discuss our treatment recommendations with you and your child.
