Motility Disorders Program

The Motility Disorders Program at Children’s Nebraska specializes in diagnosing and treating issues with the muscles and nerves in your patient’s digestive tract that cause food to move too slowly, too quickly or in the wrong direction.

About Us

The Motility Disorders Program at Children’s Nebraska specializes in diagnosing and treating a range of gastrointestinal motility disorders, including anorectal motility disorder, small intestine motility disorder and antroduodenal motility disorder. As the only pediatric program in the region offering the full spectrum of testing and care for motility disorders, we are equipped to manage complex cases effectively.

Motility disorders impact the movement of food through the digestive system, which includes the esophagus to the rectum. When issues arise with the nerves, muscles, connective tissue or structures within the digestive tract, motility disorders can occur. Our providers offer comprehensive care to manage symptoms, improve your patient’s quality of life and provide education and tools for ongoing management. Our motility specialists collaborate with colleagues in Colorectal Surgery, ENT and Urology to provide coordinated care for complex cases.
