Nurse Residency Program

You finished school, passed your exams and earned your nursing degree — congratulations! Now it’s time for residency. We'll help you find the right track.

About Our Program

We’re proud to be a Magnet®-recognized hospital. Our Nurse Residency program is designed to help new graduate nurses make the leap from student to professional registered nurse (RN).

As a nurse resident, you'll participate in important learning activities, including:

  • Classroom lectures

  • Online courses

  • Case studies

  • Hands-on clinical experiences

  • Practice your skills through simulations and real-life scenarios

We Offer Two Residency Tracks for You To Choose

Both tracks emphasize family-centered care, professional development and evidence-based practices. You get the most well-rounded training in pediatric nursing, but there are some differences:

Hospital Track

This track focuses on hands-on experience in fast-paced inpatient areas, such as critical care and emergency departments. Shifts are about 12 hours and can vary by day, evening or night depending on department needs.

Ambulatory Track

This track offers experience in outpatient settings such as specialty clinics and primary care offices. Nurses work closely with pediatricians and specialists during weekday shifts. The focus is on preventive and specialty care.
