In partnership with the Mental Health Innovation Foundation (MHIF), Children’s Nebraska is taking a bold step to improve pediatric mental healthcare. The Behavioral Health & Wellness Center at Children’s Nebraska, opening in January 2026, will provide a full, seamless continuum of care to improve the physical and mental health and wellbeing of children, teens and families. MHIF and Children's hosted a tour of the state-of-the-art facility on Feb. 13 to give media and community members a first look inside and a construction update.

The Behavioral Health & Wellness Center will offer comprehensive pediatric mental health services to ensure youth and families can access the right care and immediate support they need, regardless of the level of crisis they are experiencing. With its innovative model of care, healing design and co-location with pediatric medical services, the facility is a first for the region and nationally distinctive. It will be operated by Children’s Nebraska and offer a broad array of services with world-class features including a crisis assessment center, inpatient care, partial hospitalization program, outpatient services, primary care integration and much more – all in a welcoming, calming environment designed to help kids heal and keep them safe.

Soon, Children’s will be hiring team members for the new facility who have a heart for helping children and adolescents. Learn more about the Behavioral Health & Wellness Center career opportunities.
