I am Nichole Thies and I’m a pediatric nurse practitioner at Children’s Physicians, Eagle Run.

Pediatrics has always been my passion since I was 11 years old and started babysitting. I knew when I grew up that I wanted to work with kids, so when I found my love of medicine, it was no question that it was going to be in pediatrics.

I really love my role here at Eagle Run. I get to see all of the patients in this office. When your child’s pediatrician is busy and they can’t get you in, that’s what I’m here for — to make sure that we still can see you here at the office on the day that you need, whether it’s for a well visit or a sick visit.

The best advice I would give to parents is to trust your gut. If you think something is wrong with your child, you’re probably right. Never hesitate to call us or ask. Also, if you think your child is fine, then they probably are, too. As their parent, you know them best.

I have three kids of my own, so I know what it means to be on the other side of that. That is why I try to give so much education and to explain what we are doing and what I’m seeing. Hopefully, we can make decisions together, making sure that we’re caring for their child in the best way possible.
