About
My name is Jon Cramer. I’m a pediatric and adult congenital cardiologist here at Children’s.
I’m a native of Omaha, Nebraska. I grew up, did high school here, did college and medical school here. I went away for about 8 years and knew from the moment I left Omaha that I wanted to come back. I have a passion for Omaha, Nebraska, and the surrounding area.
I know that [care for] adults with congenital heart disease and children with congenital heart disease is a needed area here, so I was happy to come back. A lot of the time, these patients are unsure about what it is that they have or what that means for them in the future.
Oftentimes, they have previously seen some adult cardiology groups who maybe have less experience with congenital heart disease. Or maybe they’re transitioning from a pediatric cardiologist who they haven’t seen in years, or perhaps decades. So we spend a lot of time really focusing on what their disease is, what was done to them in the past, and what we need to look out for in the future.
Having a child or even an adolescent or an adult with congenital heart disease is a scary thing for a lot of people. It takes a lot of training, it takes a lot of knowledge and understanding about it. Here at Children’s, we have excellent cardiologists, we have excellent surgeons, we’ve got a really good team. I think this is the best place to get care.
