When it comes to physician training, there is always more to learn. That’s why Children’s Nebraska offers many educational and training opportunities — whether you’re a practicing physician, just starting your residency, or in the process of applying to medical school.
“Going through residency is one of the most challenging yet rewarding experiences we have as physicians. Whether it’s choosing the right medication, learning a new procedural technique, or spending a moment playing Wii bowling with a patient, we get the opportunity to make a difference in a child’s life.”
—Jenna Allison, Hematology/Oncology Fellow, Children’s Nebraska
Fellowships & Residencies
We provide residency and fellowship programs to further your specialty training in hospital and ambulatory settings.
Continuing Medical Education
We offer a wide range of programs that allow our physicians and other healthcare specialties to learn about the most modern advances and innovations in medical research, treatment, and best practices for patient care and satisfaction:
HeartCode PALS: Pediatric Advanced Life Support Course
Our PALS courses follow the HeartCode format — a blended learning method that consists of a self-directed online course, followed by a hands-on, classroom portion.
Undergraduate Medical Education
We offer several programs for students who have not yet reached the residency or fellowship level but are looking to further advance their medical education.
Shadow Learning
Shadowing allows college students to observe providers in action in a healthcare setting. This experience only involves observation — you will not perform work of any kind.
Education Hotline
The Education Hotline is designed for anyone who is pursuing education and training at Children’s to provide feedback on their experience. Fellows, residents, students, shadow learners, and academic interns alike are welcome to use the Education Hotline.
