Urology

Pediatric Urologists are surgical specialists trained to treat structural and functional conditions of the male and female genitourinary organs.  These include the kidneys, ureters, bladder, urethra, penis, testicles, and vagina.

The Section of Pediatric Urology at Children’s Nebraska offers comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic services for diseases of the urinary and genital tract for children from birth to age 21, in addition to prenatal consultation for antenatally-detected urologic diagnoses. The division employs the only fellowship- trained pediatric urologists in the state of Nebraska and utilizes the most advanced techniques to diagnose and treat even the most complex genitourinary conditions. Children’s Pediatric Urology specialists are experts in all aspects of urologic care, from routine diagnoses to complex reconstruction as well as minimally invasive and robotic interventions that offer the benefit of quicker recoveries and less visible scarring.  We have developed several multidisciplinary clinics to meet the unique care needs of our patients whose diagnoses require expertise from different specialties.  In addition, we work collaboratively with our Service Line partners, Pediatric Nephrology and Pediatric & Adolescent Gynecology.

What Sets Children’s Apart?

Every Urologist in our group is Fellowship-Trained in the subspecialty of Pediatric Urology—in addition to completion of a Urologic Surgery Residency, our Pediatric Urologists have completed an additional accredited training program in Pediatric Urology, providing our patients the best trained specialists for their child’s Urologic needs.

Children’s Hospital and Medical Center employs the only subspecialty board certified Pediatric Urologists in Nebraska.

Our Pediatric Urologists and Advanced Practice Providers devote their entire practice to Pediatric Urology.  Our Urology Clinic is the only practice in Nebraska that does so.  This assures the highest level of commitment to the care of our Pediatric Patients.

We provide comprehensive care for all areas of Pediatric Urology and utilize the most advanced technology for diagnosis and treatment of our patients, including in office ultrasound and video urodynamics to robotic surgery.

We offer patient and family centered care and have child life specialists and sedation available for invasive diagnostic testing.

We provide care using a Service-Line model, which brings together medical and surgical subspecialists, including Pediatric Urology, Pediatric Nephrology and Pediatric & Adolescent Gynecology, to provide coordinated, comprehensive care for children with genitourinary conditions.

We provide care to patients living in Nebraska, the five surrounding states, and beyond.
